Hello all, My name is Bryan and i live in the US...Fort Myers, Florida to be exact(year round riding!) I purchased my first Triumph, a 2018 Street Triple RS in black, a few months back and absolutely love it. For years, I've been in love with the Bonneville and Thruxton and have known for a long time I would eventually own one, and I will, but I've had 2 bikes on my short list for some time as a next bike. The 2 bikes I had narrowed down to were the Yamaha MT-10 & the SPEED Triple RS. I currently also have a 2010 Yamaha FJR1300 that I love(extremely powerful, fast, & comfy), but really was craving a naked canyon Carver in addition. I'm used to riding a 1300, so I just knew one of these two bikes were "the one!" I rode both and was surprised how heavy they both felt, they both lacked the scalpel feel I was craving. At the persistent insistence of my salesman, I reluctantly took out a Street Triple RS, knowing I was wasting my time..."that engine is too small to satisfy my craving," was my internal thought. Well, somewhere about 2/3 the way into my Street Triple test ride, I broke out into uncontrollable laughter(thank God I wear a full face helmet) at the feeling the bike gave me. Seriously, I lost my shit, I was having so much fun between the sound, the LCD screen, the nimble feeling, tossable handling, and acceleration, I couldn't stop the laughing. The Street was exactly, I mean exactly the feeling I was looking for. You don't feel that level of joy often in life, and I had found it, better than I expected and in a bike I didn't expect to like, much less love. It was funny, I was almost embarrassed to go back and tell the guy about what just happened. Luckily I don't embarrass easily, so I told him exactly what happened, them immediately bought the bike! I purchased it mid September and that feeling hasn't changed 4 months and 4,000 miles later. I seriously underestimated the bike as well as my own notion that I needed to have a 1,000cc naked. If I didn't already own and plan to keep my FJR1300 and could only have one bike, I would probably pick the Speed, but since I have a bike with that level of power, the Street was the better addition. It felt exactly like a scalpel canyon Carver, which it is. Needless to say, I'm really excited to be a Triumph owner! I will still someday add a Thruxton R to the stable as it's a long term love/lust thing, but for now, for me, I have a great motorcycle set that meets my desires. Sorry to be long winded, but happy to be here...and noticing that I've been grinning ear to ear the whole time I've been typing. If you made it this far, thanks for reading! Thanks!
Welcome aboard bro and enjoy the ride! I feel much the same way. While I was growing up, Triumph had really beautiful bikes, Downright sexy!
