After a lifetime on Japanese IL4s, most recently a 20 year old FJR1300 that i had for more than 10 years the time was right for a change so have a 2010 ST1050 incoming.

Have enjoyed reading about lubing the bearings in the single sided swingarm (also a new feature to me) although I am well familiar with rear suspension linkage maintenance - if you have had an FJR then you will know where i am coming from.

Hopefully get the bike next weekend

    Cheers all

So, picked up the bike yesterday in Oldham and am pretty pleased with it. Mechanically seems sound and pretty decent cosmetically too for a 12yo bike.

However, the clutch is brutally hard. I got stuck in some slow moving traffic on the M6 on the way back and was properly struggling with it. Never had an issue like this before so as the gearbox changes OK I think I'll change the cable for starters to see if that helps.

    Any suggestions welcome

Nope i would probably agree it will be the cable and grease up the lever bolt area as well.

Loved my ST1050. Clutch always felt fine. Sure it just needs some cheap maintenance.
