Hi all, just purchased my first ever Triumph. A T100 on a 15 plate. Never used by previous owner and currently has only 320 miles on the clock. Been dry stored in a garage for a while. Need to get it serviced as it's not been done. Maybe also replace the battery. Anyone have a rough cost for service at triumph dealers. ? Mark
If you can change a 13 amp plug you can do a basic lubrication service. Candidly, the oil in it is probably good for another 500 miles before giving it its first service. You are getting out of warranty on time so it is questionable if it is worth taking it to Edinburgh Triumph. Start here! https://haynes.com/en-gb/triumph-bonneville-01-15-haynes-repair-manual And, I am going to regret this, shout ‘Help!’ if you need to.
Thanks for the welcome and advice r.e the service. The bikes just past it's 3 yr mark so warranty is out anyhow. Hoping to keep it a while so will probably do the servicing myself. Always thought that regardless of mileage it should still be serviced at regular intervals. But since its spent most it's life in a garage being stared at and not ridden it's never been done. Went out today for a short blast, stopped to refuel then went to fire up and just getting a clicking from starter, had to bump it to get going again, stop, started a couple of times later in the day and fired up ok every time. Will see how it goes before changing the battery. Mark
Welcome to the forum. Highly recommend doing your own maintenance so you learn what makes your bike 'tick.' You can always ask questions on the forum to get the help you need.
Hi, I'd get the battery for piece of mind, and the oil change service is a piece of cake. But before you go ahead I would recommend getting the correct filter wrench as it's a bit awkward working on the upside-down under the engine filter. Happy biking.
Good morning and welcome. Depending on your wrenching ability, I would agree with the others here and opt for doing your own oil/filter change, since it is simple enough. and a questionable battery is just too easy to replace. I will not put up with one myself! Enjoy your new ride and don't forget to ride safe.
Will definitely do myself looking at stealer service costs starting at around £200. Thanks for all the info so far. I'm sure there'll be more questions to come. Mark
Welcome to the Asylum you should fit right in. We will need photos it keeps the inmates happy. Tucker
