This week I will pick up my 'new to me' 2000 Trophy T312 1200
I'm a bit buzzing at the prospect.
Nice tidy bike, nice colour, 21k miles.
A couple of minor things that I already know about....the fuel gauge doesn't work (any ideas anyone??) and I think I will replace the screen for the newer taller version. Apart from that all seems good.
I feel some long distance touring coming on next year!! :p

Cheers guys, I’m looking forward to getting it. I won’t be using it much over the winter months but having it in the garage is better than not having it at all.

    Hi Mr Jarse. Welcome in.
Your lack of working fuel gauge could just be the sender wire under the tank being disconnected. My Trident just has a low fuel level warning light only, but that is how it is set up. Yours may well be similar.
    Enjoy!

Hi and welcome to the forum.
Winter can be the time to fettle the bike and carry out mods or repairs - but don't write it off for riding - plenty of sunny if cold days to take advantage of!

Thanks guys. I've been without a bike for about 7 years now due to not having the money, or at least not being organised with the money I did have. I've got myself back on my feet nicely now so the bike is my reward to myself for my efforts.
Reminds me of the saying, "If you wanna get on your feet you have to start by getting off your arse!"

    Hi guys
The bike arrived on Thursday afternoon via courier.
    It's nice, I like it a lot.
The courier guy was outstanding from start to finish. Just thought I'd mention his name in case any of you ever need such services. His name is Benjamin Butterworth and his company is called Bike Move. He is based in Warrington and he has a bike pedigree that most of us would be jealous of. Super guy, great service.
    Anyway back to the bike....
I'll need the little screw covers for the fairing plus a couple of other bits. And the higher screen too. I got insurance and tax sorted, it already has MOT so I'll get my first spin this afternoon.

Just had my first ride on the bike this morning. Absolutely flippin amazing after 7 years of having no bike. I didn't go too far, just about 30 miles but I purposely took a route that had a mix of A roads, B roads and finished off with a short motorway blast of about 5 miles.
After the first 5 miles or so I felt like I had never been away from bikes and what a wonderful feeling it was. Loved it, and now I have a smile on my face to last until this evening at least. The Trophy was exactly how I remembered the last one. Strong as an ox, super smooth through the gears, comfortable and built for epic journeys. Am I one of the few who doesn't mind the weight of these bikes? To me the bulk adds to my sense of security even though I know it doesn't mean that at all. :)

Good to hear you enjoyed your first run out on the 1200 ...... :)

What weight ??? :imp: I've just moved from one of BMW's tractors

    With a full tank
    1994 Trophy 900 = 250 kg
    1999 Trophy 1200 = 260 kg
    2000 R1100RT = 282 kg

Seriously though the Triumph feels really light and flickable, and not being ashamed to change down into first within earshot of anyone else is a revelation too
