    I’m just wondering if the new Twins and similar bikes are coming with an oem battery that is standard lead acid, agm, or gel? I have a maintenance charger to hook up and need to know which setting to use. Cheers!

    Not true. My TTR came with an AGM battery.

    I don't think that Yuasa would be classed as a cheap battery.
    The failings are that some retailers fail to commission a battery properly. They should be charged according to the instructions for maximum life , but some just fill and install.

    @Rich Bryce
    Rich you have a street twin and work in a Triumph shop, surely you can answer this?
    What type of battery does it come with?

    Yuasa as standard in all Triumphs atm. Commissioned in the shop. Not cheap. I recently replaced the one in my Bonnie SE with a cheaper one from Larsons.

    Thanks! From what I can see of my battery, it does look like the one linked. I have set my maintenance charger for an agm, and seems to be just barely humming along to keep it topped off. Cheers!

    It is an AGM maintenance free battery. Most new bikes today use an AGM battery. I use a Battery Tender Junior maintenance charger. Have used it for years on all of my past bikes and my new Twin. It does a great job.
    BTW how do you like your twin? I love mine !!

    Love it. It’s a great ride in the twisty mountain roads I’m fortunate enough to live near.
