Just seen the BBC news. The police in London are now driving into ‘moped thieves’ and knocking them off the bike. I appreciate these thieves are low life scum but is this tactic appropriate?Dread to think what might happen if they hit someone innocent by mistake.

I'd go further - use the Police helicopter as a sniper platform! :D:D

I have always thought that they should change their helicopters to Apache combat helicopters , save all those car chases ,one squirt and by by stolen car/bike and by by scum

Collateral damage, always civilian casualties in any war.
Plus chances are they would be foreigners, so wouldn't really matter ! :p

The s@@tbags have been able to get away with it for so long they think they can't be touched. They need to learn there are consequences and it seems that by hitting back thats the only way they will learn. They have the options of not nicking stuff and stopping when 'asked' to do so. If they don't well its their problem.

If the're two up on a scooter, they have three seconds to stop and put their hands up, or suffer the consequences.

    Simples.

Completely agree with these new tactics, but lets face it when is there a cop about at the time, also lets say they are able to spot and give chase, I don't think they have any chance of getting close to these kids from what I've seen via TV footage, these little scroates can ride and they have no boundaries at all when it comes to pedestrian crossings, footpaths, shopping streets or anyone's life but there own, its going to be pretty impossible if you ask me but at least they have a green light to do so.
    LETS HOPE THERE SUCCESSFUL :D:D:D

Looks like I’m the snowflake on this thread.
As some of you know my mate had his Honda trials nicked by moped scum who hijacked him in Newhaven so I’m not exactly well disposed to these shit bags but I can’t but feel there’s a line here being crossed. Putting innocent casualties aside, if these strategies are to be more commonly deployed who else is next.....

Although I've just dished out a disagree to eastbournemark :eek:
I can see the point you make Half ton, I hadn't fully looked at it from that point of view but where do you draw the line, cops have got to be given this chance to make a difference, I think your family is more at risk with these moped scumbags riding about unlicensed and uninsured.

I agree in part. Traffic cops are a bunch of tossers in general. But the enemy of my enemy, is my friend. Lowlife scumbags are worse than those jumped up twats in blue.

The police are under very strict guidelines, so sure checks will be made before actions would be taken.

Not a great fan of police with this power but this might put said scumbags off, make them realise they're not untouchable and stop giving us all a bad name to the general public

The reason all these scum bags do what they do is because they’re safe from repercussion. It’s about time scum were treated as scum and wiped away

But there poor little products of their environment and we should really be caring for them, giving them free holidays and loads of benefits.

:confounded: Oops, sorry, what I meant to say, is after running them off the road, stamp on their bollox so hard they can't continue to interbreed.
