Got some new bags, from the U.K., for this summer's trip with my son. I like that they can be locked to the bike (with the exception being the Saddlemen roll bag)
I bought the side bags ( Hepco and Becker Street Soft Bags) from Norman Hyde Co. (sent from Moto Legends Dist. Nottinghamshire), came as a bundle (bags and C-Bow frame mount) cost 285 GBP. The roll bag (Saddlemen R1300 lxe Tactical Roll Bag) I bought from Revzilla, here in the States, cost 110 USD. The Hepco and Becker bags are touted as being "shower proof" but come with a waterproof exterior bag as does the roll bag, though why anyone would ride in a monsoon is beyond my reckoning
While I would agree with you Sir, I will have to refer that over to @dilligaf for a more comprehensive answer
Before hard panniers on the Tiger, when I I had the Bonneville I thought I should get one of these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Pacsafe-Anti-Theft-Backpack-Bag-Protector/dp/B000N8GXI2?th=1&psc=1 to put over soft bag and lock onto frame
