New From Kent

Morning all, just joined up. I’ve been riding for 20 years but only recently fallen in love with triumph triples. I acquired a low mileage 900 trophy last summer and was blown away by how quick and comfy it was after years of riding Ducati’s. I’ve been offered a 900 thunderbird 1999 which has been off the road for some years but looks to be in good nick with only 11k on the clock and 1 owner. Anybody got any thoughts on how these compare to the trophy?

Thanks everyone. Yes it’s in good condition with only 6000 miles on it from new. It was part of triumphs press fleet and then went into a private collection for a long time. Is the thunderbird a good stable mate for the trophy do you think?

 

Good to know, any particular things to look out for as opposed to the other triples?

 

I’m sure I will, going to go and have a look at it tomorrow along with a 68 bonneville.

 

Thanks everyone, yeah i know about the sprag clutch. Always careful with the Trophy. Its been a pretty reliable bike in the year or so I've had it. Having said that a fork seal started leaking yesterday so need to sort that now.
