bike etc 018 [800x600].jpg Put a pic on the gallery but here's another.had the triple since october and done around 1500 so far (but not easy in a British winter) I am a big fan of modding my bikes (the wife isn't) and I have a great many over the years but none have been left standard. The STR so far has been custom painted, custom seat plus standard with cowl,Rox risers, rizoma grips gps mounted ,arrow cans, carbon hugger and fender extender, radiator grill and barend mirrors modded.I have owned 8 harley which have all had the treatment and include a pic of the bike I sold for the Triumph, spent £5000 and hundreds of hours getting it to that point (explains the wives lack of enthusiasm). Hi Jim,the paint job was done by a local car paint guy up the road from was a bit sceptical but he has done a first class job total cost £250,on the wheels I got him to leave the outer 2cm unpainted then added the stripes in the pic.Wont be getting a tail tidy as the stock setup stops the spray going up the missis when its raining. On the subject of Carbon there is a guy in town who makes parts in carbon or fibre glass he made the seat cowl and carbon hugger £40 each. Nice job Jim... There is another way to stop the spray covering your other half.... Dare I say, remove OE tail end, fit new tail tidy, next remove pillion pegs, and finally fit single seat cowl!!
    Lol

With both me and the mrs not being small people, we decided a bike each was the safer option. There is no way me and her would fit on a Street triple even with a bigger seat

Thanks for the kind comments.Maybe does seem a bit strange swopping the V ROD for the STR,but I had the bike 6 years ( the longest I've kept a bike) and as I mentioned earlier put countless hours modyfying it,but felt like I had come to the end of the road with it and couldn't think of what else I could do to it:smile: The other reason was up until last year the majority of our holidays were bike tours 2 up all over Europe. But then we bought a motorhome and started trailering the bike on our trips (retired so trips were up to 7 weeks at time) Great way to travel use the motorhome for travelling and living in,but the bike for exploring when we stopped places. But the trailer We had at the time had a steep ramp and manhandling the Harley up and down it was a real pain in the ass.So decided to go for something lighter hence the triple(have since got much easier to load trailer) (
AE Smith :: Trailer services I am a compulsive modder hence the changes to the street, but dont think I will be able to be as radical as I was with the V rod.but watch this space:smile: here are a couple of pics some other bikes I have altered. harley 001.jpg 076-1.jpg
