Been on the look out for a bike since my test rides a few weeks ago, I wasn't in any great rush as I have more surgery to come at the end of July but like any boy I couldn't help myself. I was looking on eBay, Autotrader etc etc, anyway, whilst looking last night I fell over a Bonneville in White (my favourite colour) 2400 miles on a 2012 plate. The bike is immaculate, some may think Im nuts but I bought it unseen but took the dealers word on the condition. Paid cash and she will be ready for collection/delivery on the 16 June with a new service and MOT. Bought my insurance today as this was a requirement of the dealer, no problem as I needed it anyway :)

At least now I can feel like I am a proper member on here and not an ex GSXR rider pretending to be a Triumph owner :joy: Rather than collect I will have it delivered so contacted Reuben Duff (recommended by the dealer) just waiting on a price to be agreed or contact from him.

So now this is where the questions start... :(

I understand the suspension leaves a lot to be desired, I would drop a set of Ohlin springs in the front and on the rear too but they can be a little obvious in their yellow paint job:( so looking on eBay I see there are some Dunstall gear on there, are they any good, I know when I was a boy their exhausts were the dogs danglies :)

Hi Andy and congrats on the new purchase. The Bonneville suspension replacement usually comprises of TEC front springs and TEC or Hagon rear units.

You'll need to change the exhaust pipes if you want it to sound right.

That sounds like a good low mileage bike.
I don't want to pee on your bonfire but it's always nice to know the history, Dozers Dad and Rich Bryce can advice you on that.
My Bonnie EFI is a 2012, I bought that with 2035 miles on the clock, it's now done 9k and I love it.
    Bits you may consider adding/changing:
    Scottoiler
    Rear shock upgrade
    Progressive front springs upgrade
    Fork gaiters
    Centre stand
    Locking fuel cap
    Rear rack
    Bikini fairing

Just worked out how to save the pictures from the dealers website and to upload them here... here goes. EDIT: Oh yes, one owner from new FSH etc.

Burton Bike Bits are well known and long established in the older Triumph circles (Meriden) so should be okay to deal with. Seems that way anyway.:)
Never knew that Dunstall produced rear shocks though. Hmmm.
Hagon, and some others, will make up new rear shocks designed specifically for your weight and riding requirements, which may be a better way to go. Have a word with Hagon themselves to see what they can offer, and indeed any others that are recommended by the other inmates hereabouts. At least you have time to do a little research before delivery, but ride the bike first to see if it needs any alteration(s) to make it as you would like it.
Methinks you have much pleasure coming your way - and plenty of suggestions as to how to get it.

    Very nice Andy.
The plain white looks great, Triumph rack already on, so that's good.
Get your centre stand fitted first, it will help when cleaning.
Bet you can hardly wait! :grinning:

Your right Mick, was sat earlier thinking about collecting it next week rather than wait for delivery but its quite a round trip. Still it will be here soon enough and the insurance don't start until the 17th so that's put the cap on that :D

I am pretty sure Hagon progressive fork springs are Wilbers items for which you pay £10 more.....they use the same stock number and near identical packaging. I fitted them to my T100 with Tec shocks for a much less jittery ride.
The feked.com Vickers pipes are also well worth a look. 'Manly' but not offensive! With a TTP retune as well the mid range torque is significantly boosted and with it a much more tractable ride.

My SE is a 2012 bought with 1800 miles on the clock from the local Triumph Dealership.
I have fitted TEC progressive shocks at the rear and their progressive springs at the front. Both easy jobs done literally in minutes - watch Delboys videos if not sure. TEC are cheap - Hagons would be better but Ohlins will be over the top for a Bonnie I think. The Dunstalls look like the TEC ones but TEC are £99.99.
Check out their site for other parts - like a centre stand. http://shop.tecbikeparts.com/t/triumph-twin-parts
Exhaust should be next priority unless you want the bike sounding like a sewing machine! Lot's of choice - TEC again, Triumph TORS, (which I have) Arrow, Norman Hyde and so on.
Fork gaiters improve the look of the bike and then the list goes on!:cool:

Funnily enough I was thinking the same thing and I guess that's why I didn't go for the Street Triple, like some/most/all Im a bugger for racing around. When I test rode the Bonneville I found all I wanted to do was plod along (which is a good thing lol).

Thank you for the above and most of all thank you for the link to the TEC store. Im surprised at how low some or most of the prices are, I shall have fun on this site, my wife is already shaking her head :D
