My 13 reg Tiger 800XC is due a major service and MOT in a few weeks which will probably cost £600 also it’s still on the original battery and brake pads so more expense could be round the corner.

So I thought I’m not going to pish about, yes,no,yes,no,,,it’s new bike time.

Over to my local Honda dealer who I know quite well to have a look at the Africa Twin Adventure Sport, wow what a nice looking bike but boy is it tall in fact to tall for me and I’m 6ft.
Just didn’t feel comfortable and coupled with the crap p/x offer I definitely won’t be having one of those.
So over to Triumph dealer Bill Smiths at Chester who offered me a better p/x on a new Tiger 800.

Next port of call Staffordshire Triumph who I bought my present Tiger off.
Sat down and had a coffee with sales manager Tiko and told him that I’m here to buy a new Triumph today if he can come up with the right deal.
Wow in fact double wow, as a loyal returning customer I was offered a far, far better deal than I dreamed I would ever get so the deal was done there and then.
Just got to wait for the bike to come in, but told him I don’t want it in the first week of July as I won’t have time to run it in and get it serviced as I’m off to the IOM for 6days and immediately on my return off to the GMU.
    Happy days :)

Tiko is a nice fella, he once offered me a good deal but I had to withdraw due to being unable to part with my R3R.

The XCa is what I was interested in but didn’t like any of the colours, to many matt colours in the Tiger range and also the top of the range XCa/XRt both have heated seats etc which is a waste for me as I ride one of my older bikes in winter.
So ended up with a XRx and having farkles, centre stand, engine bars, Ali sump, rad guards, LED fog lights and E Scot oiler, think that’s it.
Not going to say what COLOUR Ade.

Yep he’s a good bloke who knows his job inside out and not one of the slimy salesmen you sometimes get.
Think he’s work for Bob Sheldon, owner of Staff Triumph for 18 years. Cut him in half and it would say Triumph. He’s still got the Triumph that he bought new in1979.

    Yes quite a bit.

Bill Smiths is nearer to me than Staff Triumph but one of the deciding factors was the excellent service that I have received from S.T. in the past.
Also Bill Smiths are main dealer for Triumph, Yamaha and Suzuki at their Boughton showroom where as S.T are Triumph only and in my eyes they are therefore more Triumph specialists.
Not knocking Bill Smiths it’s just my thoughts and opinions.

    Inclined
Inclined to agree - the dealership experience is very welcoming and being a specialist they really do know their stock.
