So I want to get back to some serious touring on the Speedy and that includes bringing the Fraü. First impressions of the Triumph panniers were not good. Nice to look at but pretty useless for 2 up touring. At best they are day bags, flask and sandwiches and not much else. I think I would struggle to use them even for a weekend away on my own. So queue the Lomo bags, as recommended by Stuart Fellingham on YouTube. First impressions are very good. Similar material to my Sealine 50 litre roll bag. Well constructed and certainly look waterproof. Even just with a quick fiddle, they seem to sit well on the back of the bike. No need to use the massive Velcro central strap which I'm sure will slip under the pillion pad if necessary. I filled them out by putting my Triumph bags inside them. So overall happy at present. Sit well on the bike. Plenty of securing straps and points to give confidence. Only a bit of real world touring will tell the story properly. DB
No mate I find the standard saddle ok for myself However I’ve recently acquired some new brown quilted seats from @Wessa on this forum and will be giving those a try soon If you look at something for NUDGER part two and three you’ll see what I’ve done for me and wor lass’s trip to the Isle of Man
Excellent. I've gone for the Highway Kit seats myself. The front is excellent, the Fraü is yet to test hers, but very keen in customising this bike, so will be interested to see what you've done. Will give it a read, cheers.
Hi and welcome. Those bags look massive,; did you have to install any framework to facilitate them? Wessa
No, they sit nicely over the Triumph bag frames, and tie off to them easily. I think the photograph is maybe making them look like that. They are 30 litres each, which by the time the Missus finishes with them they'll be full.
