Purchased my Brand New Thunderbird Lt on Friday 17/10/2014 Told was the first one sold in South Africa. Drove for about 50 Km and parked in garage. Saturday morning all suited up turned ignition, petrol pumping all over the engine. Phoned local dealer Mike Hopkins and there were there quite quickly. The o ring on the injector had been pinched and split, replaced. Was told this was done at manufacturing. Repaired happy. Sunday i notice a whinning sound at between 40 and 60 Km coming from the front of the bike. Drove for about an hour in different gears, engine of coasting still the same at the same speed. Agent picked up bike on Monday,. They thought is could be the wind deflector so we removed it and tested again still there. We now think it could be the front tyre any ideas? Also another fuel leak this time on the tube going from each carb, this happend at the dealer, bike still there. So basically not very happy at the moment. Malcolm
That's not good news Malcolm. Sounds like the machine needs a thorough check over before you have it back. If problems persist I would be asking for a replacement.
No we don`t unfortunitly. I was told today the o rings on the fuel system can only be purchased from the factory. Have to wait about a week for the parts to arrive in South Africa. The tyre problem i was told to ride to the first service and see what happens.
