Hi, I am Phil from Hampshire. I sold my 1979 Suzuki GS550 recently , and now am the proud owner of a 2009 Bonneville SE. It has an Arrow 2 into 1 exhaust, a Norman Hyde steering damper and I am thinking of fitting their smaller indicator kit. Also , after looking at some of the threads on here about flyscreens , I have today ordered a Dart summer screen. Love the bike ,its styling and performance, and obviously enjoying all this great riding weather...............
Welcome from another relative newby :upyeah: Great choice of bike mate, i recently bought a Bonnie too, love oldskool Suzuki's as well
Hi and welcome to the forum. Sounds like you have a really nice bike there and the great thing about them there is so many different aftermarket parts for these bikes Post some pics when you get a chance Cheers Steve
Hi Phil, Welcome to the forum from a fellow Hampshire resident. Have an 04 T100 fitted with the Dart flyscreen - one of the first things I did, you won't regret buying that. Bet the exhaust sounds good - I've just "debaffled" the stocks for now it gives enough improvement to the exhaust note without needing a rejet. Have fitted the Thruxton needles though to help improve the mix. Wondered about a steering damper myself and how much improvement it offers. I guess you won't be able to judge that as it's already fitted! Cheers Steve
Hi Steve , Thanks for your welcome. Yes, the damper was already there , but I have been told they make the steering less prone to "wander " , and it does seem ok. However I have left it on the recommended setting ( three clicks ) as I am reluctant to fiddle about with it ! I am thinking about getting an indicator conversion, as the stock ones seem a bit obtrusive, and the ones I have seen do not stick out so much. The silencer does have a good tone, and probably saves a bit of weight, although there are lots of other exhaust options out there but really pricey too. Will try and put a photo of the bike up soon...........Phil
Welcome A great taste you have in bikes Is it your first Triumph? Northerner with Bonnie T100 & Explorer Col
Hi Col, Thanks for your welcome message. When I was younger I had a couple of BSA,s and a Triumph Thunderbird ( not all at the same time ! ) and a couple of Japanese bikes in the intervening years . I have always wanted a Bonnie, but didn,t want the mechanical and financial problems of owning an old classic , so I bit the bullet and splashed out on a modern one. I like the looks of it, and its great to ride too, so one of my better decisions. Phil
