    Hello all,

I just picked up a 97 Sprint at an auction. No keys but got a set of locks and keys coming. I am new to street bikes but always rode dirt. I took my MC exam on my Honda Elite Scooter. This is actually my first Street bike. I'll have plenty of questions coming as the bike was laid down on the left side. I can't seem to get it out of gear, the clutch works although the clutch clamp is broken.

Anyways, glad to be here and enjoy your feedback. Pics are of it at the Tow Yard.

Lol, I don't even know what a Pannier is. Let's just say, I didn't even pay $400 for it.

Ah, got it. Yeah, it didn't have those but I did see the locks there. The key/lock set I am getting doesn't have those pannier locks. Not sure I really need that storage anyways.

Plenty of good used parts available on ebay, so as long as the bike is straight then it shouldn't be too hard to make it nice again. Rocking the bike backwards and forwards while trying to move the gear lever should get it out of gear. Make sure the battery is good before you try to start it - the starter sprag clutch is not the bike's strongest point. And while you are waiting for 'new' bits to arrive it will be a good idea to give it a good service and inspection while you have the chance.
    Good luck with it.:)

Yes, going to do a full service on her. I got the battery minder on it now to get the battery ready. I need to R&R the carb as when I turned on the fuel petcock, fuel started dripping. Stuck float.

Thanks on the rock back n forth tip.

1st start. Warmed it up and drained the oil. Removed all 3 right engine covers as they were scratched up. Paint, install new gaskets then fresh oil. Getting closer.
