A guy I used to work with is learning photography, he's been going on at me for ages to get some pictures of me and the bike, and last weekend we got a good day (finally!) and we headed out for some pics.

Pretty good I think. Took ages to get the picture with the blurred background as the roads weren't wide enough. We ended up finding a single track, I was going 15-20mph and he moved the camera to get the blur. Worth it I think.

I guess this makes me a part time model now, so if you'll excuse me I have to go work on my Blue Steel.

Where’s the knee down and wheelie shots?
Joking aside he’s not doing too badly, I like the monochrome one at the top.

Agreed. You can't beat a high quality black and white photo for details.

Great pics, not a criticism but have a play with cropping, it can make things interesting

As Crispey says cropping can work wonders to get rid of distracting stuff. Suggest to him to consider his choice of backgrounds more as the gate and pylons in the other shots spoil his pictures and to think about keeping the camera level when he's got vertical lines in the shot so those lines stay vertical and parallel to each other (then crop after if necessary). Using the composition rule of thirds usually gives better results too for things that are either moving/do move as that gives them space to move into the picture. At least in the digital age you have the delete button now rather than the bin for all the stuff that didn't work and I had a big bin......especially in the darkroom ;)

Cheers, mate. I'll pass on your comments.

Not gonna lie, I actually quite like the pylons in the background, not sure why though.
