I've found quite a bit of silt/mud/water under my battery and the cause is an 8mm hole in the back of the battery box which goes straight through to the rear wheel arch.

    Anyone know anything about this?

I've emailed the dealer to ask. I'm assuming that no parts are missing and I should find a suitable way to seal the hole.

That, my friend, is your bike’s belly button. It had a function at birth but now just collects fluff. Fill it with a blob of silicone.

Well I'd better get my belly button brush out! And my silicone gun.

Thought it might have been a birth defect/jig-dowel-hole production line thing. Thanks Callum. :grinning:

Got a call back from Blade today, confirming that nobody knew what it was for, suggesting as we thought, that it's some sort of assembly aid.

Rather than squeeze some silicone, I've filled the hole with an M8 x 15 stainless flanged dome headed bolt with a rubber washer either side, a plain washer and nyloc on the inside, checking it doesn't sit proud of the battery mount face.
