Well before Christmas I did a bit of research YouTube/magazine reviews etc and decided to buy a tracker for my soon to arrive R3R As you may know that fecker didn’t materialise So I’ve got this Monimoto tracker sitting in the house doing nothing Decided to activate it last night which is really easy When wor lass went to pick our son up from work I asked her to take the tracker with her and I kept the fob with me No sooner had she pulled off the driveway and the tracker activated and sent an alarm to my phone I could then follow the tracker with the Monimoto app on my phone I have to say I think this is a BRILLIANT piece of kit and works VERY well So I’ve put it on NUDGER and will switch it to my R3R when it gets here
@Sprinter Been reading your thread about getting a camera for your lock up I don’t know how to do a link so have tagged you into this thread I am well impressed with this monimoto tracker I get updates all the time telling me that my monimoto is ready and armed It tells me the condition of the battery on both the tracker and the fob Went up to Newcastle Triumph to look at the rocket the other week and I forgot to take the fob (doh) No sooner had I pulled away when I felt my phone buzzing in my pocket I ignored it like I always do and it rang me a number of times before I got there and looked at my phone to see who had been calling It tracked me the whole journey and pin pointed my exact location I am really impressed with this piece of kit It won’t give you a picture of the scroats pinching your bike But it’ll tell you where it is
I want to touch wood. I live in a part of the country ( no longer in Europe) where this is not a serious problem. I really cant remember the last time I heard of a bike or car being knicked with in 50 miles of here. Although I take security seriously, 5 locks at the bike as we speak. I don't know if Im willing to fork out the kind of money that I would, immediately, if I lived further south, ( nearer you nasty lot). It would give fantastic peace of mind especially on holiday. Cheers.
I thought I lived in a safe town where bike theft wasn’t a problem, until some f#cker nicked my bike - having experienced it I wouldn’t take anything for granted anymore! I think this gadget would fantastic and would have led me to my bike - police found it 12 months later dumped and stripped under a block of flats in a nearby town (c#nts) My question on this is if I had the tracker fitted and I knew where my stolen bike was and I phoned the police to say a serious crime was about to be committed would they go to the location? And if I miraculously pointed out my stolen bike before I committed said serious crime would they arrest the thief????
Like I said at the start of this post I did a bit of homework on tracker systems This monimoto one will lead you to your bike It won’t recover it for you Nor will it alert the police or any recovery agency Lot’s of stolen vehicles get dumped in fields or simply left parked up somewhere while the scum wait to see if anyone tracked it down This is your opportunity to recover your bike before it gets dismantled and put on gumtree/EBay etc If you find yourself in a dodgy area DO NOT phone the police and ask them to help recover your bike because they won’t come and help you get it out of somebody’s garden or shed even if you know it’s there What you have to do is phone the police and explain what you’re doing in the area AND WHILST LOOKING FOR YOUR BIKE TWO MENACING YOUTHS ON A SCOOTER DROVE SLOWLY PAST YOU WITH THE PASSENGER BRANDISHING A LARGE MACHETE You are now fearful for your life The police have a duty to protect the public rather than recover stolen property which is way down on the list of priorities Tell them while you’re on the phone that other youths are turning up and they are walking past eyeballing you and you absolutely shit scared Please can you hurry up because you fear for your safety This way you’ll get a better response possibly armed police if they’re in the area
It’s not that bad down here in general mate Most of the scum operate in cities and large towns But I got the tracker for my ROCKET 3 as it’s a very expensive bike and I’ll be taking it all over for my rallies where I lock it and leave it while I enjoy myself I have never fitted alarms etc on my previous bikes Although I did have a Kawasaki GT750 stolen from outside my house once I had snapped the key in the Abus U lock and had to cut it off with an angle grinder Took Feckin ages and I made a right racket so reckon some twat seen/heard me as it was Feckin nicked that very night
Getting the tracker is a sound investment @dilligaf . Good on you for doing your homework as well, it has provide some good insiight for others who might want to get a tracker for their bike....
