    Hi all,

Just wanted to start a thread about my ownership of a 93 Daytona 900.

I’ve had her for about 6 weeks now and done a couple hundred miles.

I’ve never had an “older” bike before and never owned a sports bike so thought it may be interesting to keep tabs on how I was getting on!

First impressions were great…hugely heavy and uncomfortable but the riding experience is second to none.

And that’s still true! Absolutely love riding her! I can do about an hour before having to get off and stretch but I’ve got a bad back at the mo so once that clears up I’m sure it’ll get longer!

She is a little temperamental when she gets hot and tends to cut out at lights…any ideas on why/how to fix??

And the neutral light problem when she’s warm…someone mentioned a fix to this but can’t remember where or what it was!!!

Other than that no issues! She starts pretty well…she had her sprag clutch done previously which is GREAT!

Looking forward to getting out on her as often as possible!

    Cheers all!

    Matt

Hi Matt. I LOVE that Daytona - I just missed out on a black one on ebay last night! I feel the need ..... No such thing as 'owning too many T300s'!

The hot starting problem with these might be crank position sensor? It's not an uncommon failure point so keep your eye out for a known good replacement.

Keep the pics and updates coming - as I'm a fair weather pussy/rider I'm getting my fix vicariously through your posts ........... ;)

Haha I’d def recommend getting one! I just think they’ve got sooooo much character and look the dogs!

    Haven’t regretted it at all!

Thanks for the advice, will keep an eye out!

Just bought a second black Daytona on eBay though that was about 3 weeks ago so don't think it was me who beat you too it... It's my second this year, great to ride but with it's quirks, including the neutral switch when warm, I read that a washer to lift the switch out a bit fixed the problem but haven't tried it yet.
    Happy riding, stay safe

Yep she’s on a trickle charger. As I understand too once the sprag has been changed it’s way more reliable than the original one…?

    Hi all,

Quick question (will post on technical too)…

The front brake is feeling a little “spongy”, how easy is it to bleed it and pop new fluid in?

I’d like to do it myself but would need pretty good/detailed instructions as I’m pretty special!!

    Cheers all!

Here she is in all her glory again..

I guess this will bring this thread to a close, unfortunately due to health issues Dusty has to go. So £2500 on autotrader or make me an offer!
