I am in the process of replacing the head gasket on my 99 Sprint ST. What is the easiest way of undoing the electrical loom plugs? They all have a U shaped wire to hold them in place but I cannot work out how to get the plugs apart other than prising the wire out of the plug first! Surely there is an easier way??!! Or am I just being stupid?

Normally plugs with a wire locker, you push the wire towards the plug body to release the two halves.

A picture in these sorts of situations is helpful

As Nigel says, using your thumb press the wire into the body, then pull 'em apart.
