Hi, I'm new to new Triumphs. I have a 2006 955i Daytona/speed triple. I appreciate it's safe to be seen etc.. in fact I usually ware flourecent stuff, including helmet. However I resent Having to have my lights on. I'm sure it's this, with the alarm(arghh), that's causing my battery to go flat.
Anybody fitted an 'OFF' switch to their Triumph lights?
    Any recemmendations?

Hi Andy and welcome to the forum.

Not sure if you can do, the only way I guess is use a unit from a earlier 955i.

But please make sure that you are allowed to do this as I think there may be a law that means you might have to have running lights all the time when riding.

Might be worth checking out before you go any further, as it may cause an issue at MOT time.

If you have say power in your garage it might be a better idea to connect it to an optimate or something like that.

    Cheers

    Stephen

Yo, my 09Bonnie has a gizmo that automatically starts bike on sidelights, well pleased with that. was on bike when I bought it recently. Was told easy to fit connector, goes into existing wiring in headlamp. You do have to remember to flick headlamp dip switch to bring headlamp on after starting, but certainly helps battery. Can't help further other than ring yer Triumph dealer for info maybe.

As regards alarm/immobiliser I use optimate like Steve, comes in real handy, in fact I fit optimate connector to all my bikes, works really well especially over winter with battery maintenance :upyeah:

Yer maybe already know to put voltmeter on battery with engine running and lights on etc, this will tell yer yer battery is charging. No problem with lights on if battery ok and charge working ok.

Thanks, gizmo sounds good, but I don't think I've got side lights? It seems to be headlights only with ignition.

Welcome to the forum , I have the same issue with my Speedmaster 2005 he lights come on automatic , I did speak to an auto electrician who said he would have a look and see if he could change it but decided not to in fact thinking of getting the aux spot light on at the same time as they only work on full beam at the moment :upyeah:

Yup til yer fit gizmo, should have a pilot light in headlamp so bike starts without main headlamp bulb..
