Hi Triumph brothers n sisters ;-)

    Need some advice !

I know there are lots of postings about lever guards but I am looking at this NOT for hand protection from the elements but ***soley for protecting my leavers*** if the bike drops.

I don't plan on dropping my bike but do long trips far from home so I want to not be in the place where bike goes down in a car park (cos some twot didn't see if) and lever gets broken. Please bear in mind I'm doing everything, my whole life, on a budget at the moment ;-) so cost, as it is for most people, is an issue !

    My questions are really:

    1) Do lever guards work. They look a bit fragile themselves ?
    2) Is it better to put bar end sliders instead of lever guards ?
    3) If you have lever guards do you need to have spare set of levers ?
    4) Can anyone recommend spare lever set not mad expensive but effective for Sprint GT

Thanks in advance for your answers ;-)

    ALEX

you could try a pair of short levers, they remain inboard of the bars and are usually protected by the bars, there are also short levers which pivot up at the end of the lever in the event of a drop.

Some of the Chinese levers are good and very cheap.

Thanks will do some investigation of Chinese levers !

Yeah I see what you mean about the short levers. Could get some as a "backup set" and IF... I ever need to put them on then I can see how they do

Did see a review and just in passing the guy mentioned his pivoting levers n said, out riding, he tended to catch them with his glove taking his hand back off the lever ? I suppose that's another question... pivoting levers YES/NO / ... :)

    Thanks for yr reply,

    ALEX
