Resistors are generally only needed when Indicator globe's are replaced. As they use current/wattage draw to trigger the flasher can , if current too low it will flash too fast ! Other alternative is replacing the flasher can with an LED approved model. Tail and stop lighting alone doesn't affect anything in the electrical system , provided your bike isn't CANBUS , as very modern electronic systems in car's , plane's and motorcycle's have sensing system in the ECU , this system checks sensors in the Engine and Electrical wiring harness , if something is faulty or harness is broken , the MIL light is lit warning of faults !!
Er, he’s not asking about indicators he’s asking about a tail light, that’s if he’s still here, he hasn’t been seen for 6days.
I answered his question ? Didn't I ? I stated only required if indicators , so ergo not required for other lights , but may affect Canbus systems reading signal back from the wiring/light's if the current draw is too low may register as a fault... ?
