I’m in the market for a new leather jacket, up to now I’ve been using a Barbour waxed jobby that fits my beer belly fine, however I want something warmer and offering more protection

So can anyone recommend an affordable brand of leather that’s not tailored to fit a bloke shaped like a piece of cheese

    many thanks

Best to pop along to somewhere like a j & s store they I have found to be very helpful. That's if you have one near to you.
    Regards
    Joe.

Post a photo of said cheese. Not sure if you mean Somerset Brie or a Stilton.

Thanks all for your replies - and I’m shaped more like an edam rather a wedge of cheddar

Joe Macdonald- sadly I don’t have any leather jacket outlets near by to try fit etc

half ton - thanks for the offer but I’ll hold off on that for now and see if I can find a new leather that fits

Callumity - I was looking at Merlin, do you find them roomy and comfy? a lot of feedback seems to be that they are cut on the small side?

I am 120cm/47” chest and wear a 48” Alton jacket. I would say they are bang on..... neither large nor small. If you are mildly beery you would need to go for a larger chest to compensate.

I can comfortably wear a medium sweater with their thermal liner. A thick sweater....no.

Thanks Callumity that’s good to know I’m 48 chest and 50 tum so a size 50 may do the trick - which I also believe is the biggest size they do :rolleyes:

This is good info thanks, I’m apparently a 38 waist too according to my jeans, then There’s a beach ball between there and my shoulders :):)

The older I get the harder it is to find clothes that fit:weary_face:
