so, today we learn that if you put the bike in gear with the engine running, and the sidestand down, the engine cuts out when you release the clutch....

I'd just settled to the bike enough to start doing my usual "start engine, ride off, kick stand up as you ride away" routine...

I sometimes get caught out with that one as well, but sooner that than ride off with the side stand down, every time!

Better than the BMW style spring-loaded sidestand, I dropped my R60/6 more than once!

Good little safety feature, the switch just needs checking periodically as it is prone to corrosion where it is positioned.
Good clean & red rubber grease.

I had a Laverda RGS 1000, had the same style self retracting side stand. I removed it and then only had centre stand, never dropped it OFF the side stand ever again !

    Cheers capt
