Language Query

So today a mate of mine posted this on Facebook:

Without wanting to discuss the content, my bone of contention with him was the use of "good" as opposed to "well" in the heading. I reckoned that was "American" English as opposed to the "Queens English". @Callumity being the "language/grammar" Nazi am I just being pedantic, or do I have a point? His point coming from one of his English friends was this:

" I don't know. America is a BIG place.
So I would expect differences between the various areas of America.
And, of course, they do have many differences from our English.
Heh heh, they are a DIFFERENT people!"
