Can any of you kind folks who live in/near the Peak District tell me if the level of Ladybower is still low? I'm thinking of nipping over there to have a look as the original village of Derwent has been exposed for once. You can call me sad if you like but I'm intrigued by the village re-emerging from the depths as I've always seen the reservoir full! Weather conditions will dictate if I go from the driest part of the UK!

Can't answer your question regarding the level now sorry...

However the last time I was there the water level was so low you could walk from one side to the other, apart from a stream running through the middle.

    Summer of 1975!

Used to go fishing there with Dad.... Sigh.

Apparently it’s still well down and remains of the old Derwent Hall can be seen and reached on foot but beware some people have been stuck in the mud requiring rescue! Some tw@ts have also been scrawling graffiti on the stones and removing tiles from the building remains, Cnuts!
