    Hey guys,

I haven't ridden my street triple yet, but today as I was looking over the tires (Pirelli Rosso Corsa set), I noticed what seems like a piece of rubber sticking out from the rear tire towards the middle of the profile. It seems to be made from a similar material as the tire, but it also seems out of place.

I've attached a picture below, could anyone please give me an idea as to if this is normal or something I should have checked out?

    Thank you so much.

    Cheers.

Hi Paul, welcome in, that looks like a puncture repair to me, I've had no experience of these and not sure if it is the sort done by the previous owner with a kit or at a proper shop. I would be surprised if it should stick out so much. I'd take it to a motorcycle tyre place and check it out. Apart from the rider the tyres are the only thing between you and a scrape down the road so it's good to be sure. Good luck

That's not normal and as crispey says it looks like a plug repair, but it should not stick out like that. Get it checked out before you go too far.
Welcome to the forum by the way.

As others have said it's just a puncture repair plug. Quite normal, just needs trimming flat.

Just bear in mind that the tyre has now lost it's 100% integrity, maybe don't rag it tooooo much.

It does seem to be holding pressure well, but I'll keep it monitored.
