Well after much deliberation I have got myself a 1999 Sprint ST. No MOT, flat battery, flat tyres but it all seems complete. After checking the MOT history it is a six figure mileage bike but that doesn’t bother me! Especially for £400! It apparently has head gasket failure but until I start it I won’t know but hoping it is something more minor! Pics to follow....
Many things seem to go under the guise of head gasket just ask @Dozers Dad I had a 955i RS loved it totally sold me on Triumph.
Yes I think it could be the radiator cap or the thermostat stuck or the water pump. Not in any particular order but all will be checked!
I love the st's have had five in all and only one that disappointed me when the engine blew itself to bits on the m6 coming home from Belfast. My son was riding it and how he stopped and got to the hard shoulder I will never know other than he had an angel on his shoulder. Regards Joe
