    Greeting folks.

I mentioned in another post that Id had a T120 Black on order since last year and have been counting the days until it turned up. Things changed a little when I had a demo on both the T120 and the Thruxton R, as it was the Thruxton R that blew me away and I couldn't get it out of my head. I was in mental turmoil for a week wondering which way to go and decided the only way to be sure was to get another test ride on them both again back to back.

That clinched it and my very accommodating dealer let me have this instead. Knocked the day off work & picked it up last Friday.

By the way, the T120 is still an awesome bit of kit, but, for me, I found the Thruxton R a much more thrilling exhilarating riding experience.

I'm in the process of gently and sympathetically running it in but I am love with motorcycling again :)

I did sit on one the other day and started her up, she sounded quiet in the lower revs but got a bit fruitier the higher you go, seemingly they are tested for noise level at a certain level of revs so this is how they get around the test. If that makes sense. Hopefully Bonzo will enlighten us how she sounds under load.

I'm really impressed with the sound! Of course meaty pipes would give it more volume, but I'm in no rush to swap them out just yet - if I ever do.

Might be investing in the heated grips cos my hands don't like me living in the UK, but that'll be later in the year (once the bank account recovers).

Coo. What a bike. Top marks Triumph.

Yep, I find the motor much more flexible than my previous Ducati Monster 1100evo, and it handles so much better (never thought Id say that). Ive never ridden a bike this refined in 30 years.

    Soooooooo smooth.

My word the Thruxton R in that silver is one good looking bike. I was never much into the Thruxtons personally but that really is something else I wish I had of hung on before I bought the Scrambler.

Yes i too tested them back to back and went the same way you did, the only thing is silver is the best colour and they all seem to be coming through as silver, my dealership had five, they are gonna be common as muck in a mo.
