John Noakes Dead.

    Died today in Spain, age 82. He was brilliant on Blue Peter back in the 70's.

    They keep showing the elephant scene on tv. Absolutely superb. Blue Peter, Magpie etc - all part of our youth. It seems everyday - we loose another character of yesteryear. RIP Mr Noakes.

    How could you miss out SHEP !!!!! He was the only BP presenter to be allowed to take the pet away with him.

    Yeah, he was a presenter with humour and understated style... a true inspirational guy, I always wanted to do what he was doing!!! Had his own spin-offs too, Go with Noakes... would have him camping up the arse end of nowhere to go investigate some slightly loony event or hobby!

    Makes me feel a bit sad to hear this tbh - I know we're all going to cop it - but John Noakes was around all my life, quietly getting on with enjoying himself.
