Anyone seen these yet? Have we had this discussion?

    I am intrigued!

Little 250 cc, one lunger. kick or electric start. 14 hp, top speed of 70mph. Retro cool design. They have several options/models and make a 450cc, as well. Built in Wisconsin using some American parts and others are sourced internationally. Could be fun.

Been keeping my eye on them for shits and gigs over the last year or so. You're looking at around 10 grand for larger one with a few needed options. At their performance levels, IMO they're more of an around town putt-putt, and that is simply not enough for me. I got my eyes too focused on a couple other higher-end powerhouses to take one of these seriously as a second bike. My Speed Twin is the perfect combination of an around-towner and a raging beast. Cool LOOKING bikes no doubt, but more of a collector piece or niche-machine for people looking to turn heads… again, IMO.

The engines are Chinese made too, BTW.

If I had the garage space for several bikes, not to mention the discretionary income, I'd be willing to consider one, especially the black and charcoal Halcyon 450. I get the impression that they're maintenance friendly by design. You gotta appreciate that. I'll continue to watch their progress and maybe they'll go bigger. At that point my interest will grow.

    450 prototype walkthrough...

    450 road test. 30hp...

Interesting that they're quick to explain the Chinese engine. I'm sure the decision to go there was to keep the bikes affordable. I'd imagine when they install the motors Stateside they put them through the QC wringer, but I deal with Chinese manufacturers at work. If they're anything alike my heart goes out to Janus.

That was my interest...around town putt-putt. A conversation piece...assuming I felt like talking to someone in the first place.

Just found Janus today, thanx for the vids.
I like the basic larger frame design of the 450. No cat required is a plus.
A simple, black speedo with max shift points marked could be standard with the basic bike...keep it simple.

There are a lot of videos on the development of the Janus 450. Interesting stuff {for some}.

I watched a video on these bikes. They are pleased to point out the use of American made parts and labor ('mercan spelling)but then go on to mention Honda designed engine. No mention in the video that they are made in China using very old Honda tooling. At that price point I'm not sure I would buy one. But they are amazing looking retro bikes.

These guys are now an authorized Janus dealer down in SoFlo. If you're in that area you can check out their showroom.

Looks like they're pretty much downtown WPB, about an hour N of Lauderdale on 95. Plan that drive around peak traffic hours. You could just park the car and make an afternoon of that along with all the other downtown goings on. Cafes, lounges, shops, boutiques, galleries, etc, etc. Place is pretty lively, and right on the intracoastal. Hit "Little Havana" on Dixie for some bang-on Cuban food.

If I had 5 grand to burn I'd haul ass down there and grab that R75 at Burn Up, like yesterday. Need to pay off the Speedy first.
