Is that a gasket?

    20150813_193934.jpg I need help. (But you know that already lol) I took off the down pipes of the TB to find or not no gaskets. As I have never striped a triumph before I have never looked down her ports. See photo. Are the copper bits the old gasket ?? I don't want to dig to much in case it's not and I do damage. Any help please.

    Yes that's the exhaust sealing ring/gasket

    It took too long to wait for the pic to download fully sorry - yes those are the copper washers to seal the exhaust downpipes.

    Thanks lads, I thought they were but as I said didn't want to dig to much,Yes half ton, I thought that, not sure what that is..... When I take the gaskets out I will take a look

    I think it's just the shape of the port, the other one is the same.

    Copper compression gasket look in square deals they'll have em

    d that's what it is, the pic I took was after I cleaned it up a bit, you couldn't see anything when I took the down pipes off, there's a lot of cleaning to be done, I take it it's straight forward taking off the cooling system, that's next. The pipes are now painted and drying in the shed/ garage
