Just got back from a test ride on a T120 Bonnie. My god that is a wonderful bike. Very light (especially after the Trophy), easy to manoeuvre and lovely exhaust note from the standard pea shooter exhaust pipe. I want one Problem is the bloody dealer I went to wanted my bike plus 5000 Euros, which is just too little. There's another dealer slightly further away who I'll try next week. That was the one I had a go on. (nice in black ??)
how about selling your Trophy privatley Nikki, you might find someone on here thats interested? it would be a good buy for someone
Yep agree with DD go with what you think the bike is worth. Soemtimes the dealer just needs a bit of time to get used to the deal. Good choice the bonnie..... Wessa
I was happy to do 4000 plus the Trophy, but this dealer is a right tight arse, and wouldn't shift, so as I said I'll try the other dealer and hopefully will be able to come up with something. I'd prefer to get rid of it by exchanging it rather than selling privately as its much easier. On the other hand if I sell it privately then I can buy the Bonnie in the UK at a much cheaper price than here. (remember that BPM luxury tax I told you guys about at the GMU), I'd avoid that. So lets see But I'm really smitten with the Bonnie, it was like riding a 125 after the Trophy and my back and arms will really appreciate it. Thanks for your comments guys TC
I agree about leaving your number, I bought my America that way. Couldn't agree in the shop, got a call two weeks later asking what would it take to do the deal. Got exactly what I asked for in the shop. That was over Christmas/New Year, if you can wait till then, you'll be in a stronger position.
Bonniecat yep sounds good, take your time, maybe sell privately or ebay and then come over here shopping and save money at the same time !!! sounds good, time's on your side Nikki.
I actually went to Youles whilst I was in the UK and they said they'd have to convert the bike to English (clocks etc which would knock 1000 quid off the offer price, so not worth doing it But it was a nice shop though
Tha's a Yorkshire lass - screw the Bastids!!! Or as DD says, we'll send a JockTyke delegation to sort 'em out!! Not far from the month end, so it should be a good time to get a decent deal out of them - I once saved just under £3,000 on a new Ford Fiesta by buying at the end of the month. Dealers need to meet/exceed targets in order to get bonuses etc from the manufacturers.
He showed me the book price for the clocks and it was 900 quid. Bloody ridiculous I know. Once he started going on about converting the bike I lost interest. I thought they'd just sell it as it was. Over here an English or American bike is sold as is with the original clocks
Sales people eh ? They'll tell you your part ex is high mileage at 16,000 miles but tell the prospective buyer it's hardly run in.
I HAVE become Bonniecat now. Went to the other dealer and without any arguments offered me an extra thousand Euros. Result !!! Did the deal and can have her in a week or so's time. For practical reasons have ordered the top box, larger side panniers and a fly screen. Here she is the actual bike. I'm a very happy camper
It's BLACK well done Bonniecat it's the best colour Now change your avatar name Bonniecat in black!!'!!
