Hi, Y'all, My name is Patrick, new to the forum, originally from London, where I worked for 20 years as a motorcycle courier but now I live in Texas. I was looking at a return to motorcycling and thinking about getting something cheap and sensible like an SV650 when I discovered online salvage auctions. I saw a cool looking 2012 T100 up for sale in Dallas, which I thought would be out of my budget, but I actually won the bid! There was hardly anything wrong with it, just cosmetic stuff which was easily fixed and I got it insured, inspected, and a repaired salvage title, before putting it back on the road. The bike rides great, just has a few battle scars on the exhaust etc.
Hi Patrick - if you've worked as a courier in London i reckon you have to get the bike a lot more beaten up than that!
Welcome Patrick. Good move picking.up a solid used machine. I have been doing that for years. The advantage of working with used bikes is you buy them cheap enough that you can afford to do some.custom stuff. ...J.D.
Exactly mate. I'll post the updates I make to it. The Mrs already wants to change the headlight and brackets and I'll be getting new rear shocks.
Welcome to this great forum Patrick, like me you bought a salvage bike; that way you can customise and not have to spend way too much on making a good bike special!!
Welcome to a terrific forum and a great community, Patrick! Cool bike and a great find. Enjoy! And stay safe in Texas. My brother and his family live in Dallas and it sounds like things are "slowing down" in terms of reopening thanks to COVID.
Man and Bike Welcome to the family. Well it seems you acquired yourself a real cool steed. Yes do keep us all informed on the progress. Regards Joe.
