    Hi guys,

I'm thinking about getting a motorcycle again. It's been 6 years since I sold my previous bike, a Kawasaki Z750. There are a couple of bikes (brands) that got my attention. Triumph is one of them. Today I went to a local Triumph dealer for a little information about the T120. I walked into the showroom and immediately I was charmed by the looks of the T120. Seems like a nice allround bike. Then I saw the Thruxton R and I was blown away by its beauty. What a bike! I'm going to take both bikes for a testdrive soon. Since I would like to do some travelling occasionally I know I should go for the T120 but boy, I can't get the Thruxton R out of my head. Now what? Should I follow my brains or my heart? Maybe after the testdrives I'll have my answer.
Maybe I find some answers in these forums too.
    Nice meeting y'all!

    Greetz,

    KN

Welcome KN. I can promise you you'll want both. They're addictive too, these Triumphs.

    Welcome to the forum KN
You will want both and it will be a hard decision.
Plenty of Thruxton owners do go touring with them, but the T120 takes some beating for an all round bike.

Yesterday I finally got a chance to testride the T120. I loved it. It was a brand new T120 with 0km on the counter! I was a little bit nervous because it has been a couple of years since I rode a motorcycle but from the first second I started the engine she was nice to me and gave me the confidence I needed to properly enjoy the ride. Ofc, because the tyres and brakes were not broken in yet I drove very carefully and a little more conservative than I would normally do. Not that I am a die-hard racer, but still... I can see me owning this bike. It meets my needs, it’s comfortable, allows for riding with a pillion, can be equipped with bags ... and I love the engine. I love the fact that she has lots of torque in the lower revs zone. That being said, I’m off now to test ride the BMW R Nine T. And hopefully sometime next week I’ll be testriding the Thruxton. After that I’ll be making my decision.

Here are some pics of the T120 I rode yesterday:
