I think every user in our forum has had the following problem when posting travelogues or other postings with numerous photos. After you have published your current posting with photos, you can no longer "delete" them in case of any errors (wrong photos, multiple images, etc.). There is no "Delete" function for this in the forum. Only before publishing after uploading you can use the function "Delete"! Of course, I have often had a few "photo-issues" by mistake in my travelogues. Therefore I have developed the following "workaround" for me. Procedure: 1. write a short introduction in a first thread with only one photo. 2. write a 2nd thread with the travelogue and upload your photos (up to the maximum of 10 per thread!) 3. publish your thread UPPS! There is a mistake! 4. use the edit-function for the 2nd thread 5. copy the whole text 6. save the changes 7. now open new thread (3rd!) and paste copied text 8. upload correct/wanted/planned photos 9. publish the thread 10. use the "Delete-function" for the 2nd thread; you have to fill in a comment why you want to delete the thread! If needed, you can also paste the uploaded photos within the text. Here is @Sandi T our absolute professional in the forum! Procedure: Option 1: While writing a thread upload photos at the right place and publish. Option 2: 1. write your text 2. use the photo upload function 3. publish the thread 4. use the EDIT function "cut" and "paste" your photos individually from the end of the text within the text at the right place. 5. publish the thread Last hint: Reduce the resolution of all photos before you upload them!
@Havit was a great help for me in the past with a former photo issue. Unfortunately there is no corresponding option for us users in the forum available.
I have in the past tried to delete pics but the system just wouldn't do it. I have therefore, on occasion, consciously double posted (2nd with correct pics) and then deleted the first with the reason being a double post and the system seems happy with that I found the easiest way to reduce the size of the pic file was to do a screenshot of the original.
So here is pic 1 @Havit which, after posting, I want to delete as I realised later its the wrong one. Ducati 1200 cambelt Edit 17.59 2nd September Ducati belt image deleted ... but it didn't Still allows me to upload a Triumph near York pic though. Add further pics ..... YES Delete previous submitted pics..... NO
@Havit I will in a bit try to change the picture to something Triumph related. Edit 17.59 2nd September @Havit amendment for last nights post just completed with an attempt at deleting the Ducati cambelt, see screenshot pic, and tried overwriting that post with a Street twin pic. Hope this helps you @Havit and illustrates the problem we forum users face. Any questions?
I had two photos on the above post now one, Go To Edit, Then More Options, Scroll down to you see the small picture of your photos you posted and press delete to the right of it, Then Save Changes button at the very bottom .
Nope still doesn't work! I followed your instructions, which are no different to how I'd previously been trying to do it, with regard to post 7. I tried to remove the screenshot photo. The delete button next to the picture chosen went grey background after pressing i.e. appears selected. Save changes. No change to previous post. It's as if the delete button is dysfunctional yet fools you into thinking it's working when it clearly isn't. Hope that helps @Havit
The small Picture should disappear when you push Delete??? I dont understand why this wont happen for you.. Maybe its because i have powers as Admin? It would be interesting to see if another non admin can delete photos?
So @Havit just to summarise our findings so far. When editing the delete button gains a grey background to signify it's selected. The small image does not disappear. Therefore "save changes" appears correct as nothing has actually changed. Conclusion. Delete button response/ functionality incorrect at time of pressing.
Until Rob has sorted this out, Let me know if you need photos removed as it looks like i have the power to do this.
