Hi guys, just a quick one. How much would a Triumph dealer charge to pop a map on to suit a 3 into 1 can and a k and n filter? Got the can on but want to put a filter on. I can just notice a slight flat spot and it sounds like a howitzer every time i let off the throttle. Which i love, but i feel is hampering performance. Thanks alot!
Ok great, thats not as bad as i was thinking. Just that i had a lot of trouble with my old, 2005 triple where they put an arrow map on and i had a full zard system. And basically it ran like a bag of crap. I must of gone back 4 times until they got it right. The only difference is it was under warranty and they did it all free of charge. Just dont want to spend a bomb if the same thing happens.
Yeah. Iv just spend a whole lot of money on the bike so not sure £300 remap would sit well with the wife! If i can get a map more suited to what i have on the bike for around £50 then im happy.
I thought Triumph usually only have the standard map or the TORS, arrows map. You might find the tune ecu website will have a more specific map
As far as I'm aware, all the maps Triumph dealers have for installation are just to compensate for changing the exhaust end cans; they do not take into account changes to the inlet side side such as free-flowing air filters or changes to the airbox.
Triumph maps don't allow for filter change AFAIK. Can only use TuneECU on pre-2016 Speed Triples, the Triumph maps are on there and only a couple of fairly old user custom maps which I would stay away from anyway. Using somebody else's maps you're in the hands of the gods, it might be ok, it might wreck your engine.
Have to agree with all of the above. A dealer will only have TORS or Arrows maps, which only take account of the fitting of those exhausts and no other modifications.
Ok with all the above info i should clarify first. My bike is a 2011. It has a mivv 3 into 1 and a standard air filter at the moment. Do you guys think i should be getting the map on with a standard filter? If they dont take it into account would be of any benefit? Id rather the map be done at a dealer, not go it alone and get tuneecu. I havent really the time with other projects going on at the moment. What exactly is a TORS map? Do you think the arrow map would be close enough to what i need. X
Don't be confused Andy. The joke is .....A Map of the Bike Not Mapping the Bike Give it time on this forum...... and it still wont make sense
TORS - short for Triumph Off Road Exhausts. Basically Triumph fit their own after market pipes or Arrows and they only have the maps for each one as far as I know.
Thanks alot. Not sure what to do now. Haha. Just noticed a flat spot is all. Plus as i said, i love the popping and banging but it seems a little excessive compared to my 05 speed.
Ok, i mean poppings fine but this is like the entire time the throttles let off. Its like an uzi. Might just be how it is i spose.
i had the same popping like a feckin ak47 when backing off throttle when i had twin gpr nero cans fitted,i never remmaped it still remember coming downhill from stranraer to ballantrae and noise was nuts a few folk turned round to see what it was the look on their faces was priceless,in end it got annoying and i ended up selling them on they were ok on short blasts but long runs were different matter.
