The Tiger seems a bit docile in comparison ;)

    Yup, both were me. :)
The track looks damp due to the 'glue' they put over the rubber on the track.

I stopped racing about 3 years ago now, having achieved what I was aiming for, which was multiple 7 second runs. (multiple just to prove it wasn't a fluke :D)
The bike was a road based Suzuki Hayabusa fitted with a turbo, putting out @600hp+ (from 150hp as standard) and it’s been lowered and lengthened.
In theory you could still ride it on the road....

From a standing start, it has covered the ¼ mile in 7.994 seconds and was doing @185mph at the end of the ¼ mile. The 0-60 was faster than an F1 car at 1.5 sec’s
Launching is done at full throttle and 7000+rpm while praying you’ve got the chassis set up right !
It used a clutch pack per meeting and ran on race fuel which is £160 per 25 litres.

I wasn't one of the faster guys either, the fastest ones now in Superstreet run just into the sixes at just over 200mph!

Giving up racing is the reason I could afford the Tiger :)

Got a few trophys hanging around in some boxes, keep meaning to get a display case :(.

One of my favourite ones is very similar circumstances to yours in that it was the first time I'd entered into a proper race, I won the Straightliners 10.3 class and got a very nice silver plate trophy.
Another favourite one is from the Isle of Man, I'd been coming second every time to the same guy that year, the Isle of Man was the first time I beat him and they had a special three legged Trophy for the Isle of Man which made it that bit more special :)

If you're going to the Pod and there's going to be ACU bike racing, give me a shout as I still go, crewing for a mate who races in the Competition Bike class.
