Hi ,Can anyone tell me on a 5 speed 1976 t140 the best way to replace/remove the two needle bearing in the high gear. Do they push out either end or is there only one way? Thanks in advance
Have a look at these. Todd doing his thing Needle bearing removal from casing at about 32.30 minutes And needle bearing insert on inner gearbox at about 37.18 minutes easier to see rather than describe. oh and welcome to another T140
Hi, Thanks for the quick response, but I'm looking to replace the two needle bearings that are inside the high gear as opposed to the one in the cases.
Sorry my bad. You mean these numbered 4 Here's the workshop, which you probably have, showing the drift required. I can't say I remember doing one. Sorry. But from the looks of the drift, and the description "they both press out together", from any one end will do it.
Great when someone asks for help, gets it and fixes the issue, also good that the OP came back and confirmed success, so many threads end without a conclusion, usually the ones that I’m trying to get info from!
