HI everyone, I'm from north Central Massachusetts and I've been riding motorcycles of one sort or another since the mid 1970s. I've been a Triumph fan for years but I've never owned one. I'm buying one within a week or two and I'm really leaning towards a 2018 T120. I was at my dealership yesterday just trying bikes on for size and yacking with the salesman. It was nice seeing the bikes in person instead of just online. I think the Speedmaster is beautiful, but I'm really not much into cruisers. The forward controls are very uncomfortable to me. I grew up riding dirt bikes and cafe racers, so having my feet under me rather than stretched out ahead of me feels natural. Pretty bike, none the less. The T120 painted Competition Green and Fusion White is stunning, and it's probably what I'm buying. I usually like leaving my bikes stock but the T120 will definitely be getting some bar-end mirrors. I'm also not a big fan of the pea shooter pipes. I think it would look better with the pipes that are on the Bobber and Speedmaster. I'd also probably ad a windscreen at some point. My second choice is the Tiger 800 xca. It would probably be a better choice considering the weather where I live. Heated seat, heated grips, adjustable windscreen, and so on. It's probably the perfect bike for the kind of riding I do. Buts it's nowhere near as pretty as the Bonneville and it's around six grand more. I'll need to make up my mind soon. The 2018 T120s are drying up around my area. In fact, I'll have to head down to New Haven, Connecticut if I want the green one. Decisions , decisions. ...
