Hi and welcome! I don't think the Tiger Sport 800 can be restricted for an A2 license as it's BHP is too high. The Tiger 800 can though, but they're pretty different bikes, depending on what you're after. Good luck with your tests .

It amazes me how different motorcycle licensing is in England vs the US. I got my license when I was 18 (1979), and other than a few rides on borrowed bikes thereafter, didn't ride again. Then, in 2018 circumstances conspired for me to buy a bike (held it for my son who was not in a position to buy it). It was a Street Triple with a 955cc motor! No further test or practice, and off I went! I wonder if the subtext is that Darwin's theory will sort out the idiots here? Fast forward: my son still has the 21-year-old Street Triple, and I have a Sprint GT 1050 and a Trophy SE 1215. It's little wonder that there are likely many more motorcycle accidents and fatalities in the US! Fingers crossed, I'm not among them! How does one get a motorcycle license in the UK? It seems that there are steps based on displacement/bhp, that restrict access to the M, A and B roads?
This pdf will show the paths to the various categories of licence to be gained. In my day the examiner was a pedestrian who observed from the footpath.
I had a written test followed by a 15 minute road test being followed by a police officer in his car. Ironically, during my test, a car almost failed to stop at a stop sign, and saw me at the last minute, allowing me and the officer to pass!
Having just read the pdf I hyperlinked it says, to get a full Cat A licence you must take the test on a machine at least 595cc and 50kW with a minimum kerb weight of 180 kg. I don’t think my Striple would be heavy enough as dry weight is only 168 kg from memory.
I did my CBT back in December, theory test and hazard awareness last week, and my 1st lesson is this Saturday. I have had bikes before (about 35 years ago) but didn’t go through my test, just rode on a provisional licence. Wish I had done it back then though, as it wasn’t as in-depth as it is now.
Just looked at the website and they are now quoting wet weight and you are correct, its now showing as 189kg wet.
