I have had for the last six months, a 2002 955i Speed triple. It only has 35,000Ks on the clock and has been very well looked after by its previous owner! Love the power delivery, compared to my old Jap inline fours! I have had for the past 10 years a 2006 Honda 900 Hornet and although being a very reliable and nice touring/ scratching bike. It has a very poor frame and rides like a 70's Kawasaki 900 around corners, getting into a wobble after hitting bumps around the corner. The Triumph in comparison, rider corners like its on rails and just sits where you put it! I have just got ride of the twin headlights, as they just ruin the looks of the bike! Two big frogs eyes, sitting above the front guard! Fitted an aftermarket headlight, with a Cree spotlight either side and a Givi fairing above it! What do you all think about the way it looks? I'm old school and it looks way better to me!

Welcome to the forum - I think the bike looks great. I was very pro Gsx1400 and that ilk of bike. Took me a while to appreciate the twin lights. Enjoy the forum.

    Welcome to the forum Phil
Purely down to personal taste, I would agree with Jack though, the twin headlamps are a feature of the SR.
There is also a lot of 'dangly' wires from the spots that would annoy me.
Great looking bike and in excellent condition, you enjoy it mate.

Hi Phil and welcome in to the Triumph Asylum.

Re the headlight(s), for me the 2 "bug eyes" are an essential part of what Triumph were trying to achieve, namely the look of a modified bike with the reliability of a factory bike. Each to their own though, it's just a matter of taste. Hope you enjoy your new bike for many years to come.

    +1:cool: for the single headlight.
Don't dislike the original set up though - just never been too sure about it. Wouldn't stop me buying one if the need/chance arose however.:)

    Hello & welcome

I love the twin round headlights myself although I'm not a chrome fan, in time I'll change the bowls to black.

Welcome, nice bike, I too prefer the bug eyes though, they became so iconic that when they changed them to the 'dame ednas' on the newest street/speed triples I initially hated them, they have grown on me over time though.
