Have just traded my Trophy for this Speed with the 8 ball paint scheme after wife decided she didn't want to tour anymore. We had test ride on a demonstrator and worked out a deal........ouch!!!!
Hi & welcome to the forum mate View attachment 2363 Those 8 ball paint jobs really are nice, just need to lavish it with carbon fibre now, hey CC
Hi & welcome to the forum - us Speed owners have the majority! Nice lookin Speed mate - and going by your avatar you like real ale = top man! :upyeah:
Thanks for the welcome everyone, have arranged pick-up for 2nd Dec. It's a return trip really as I had one of the last round headlight models in 2010, but a noticeable difference with the new one. Have been riding for more years than I care to remember, my first Triumph was a '59 Tiger110 then a '61 Bonneville (in the '60's!!!!) and the list goes on. returning to Triumph in '05 with the then new 1050 Sprint of which (for various reasons I have had 3) then a Street when they came out in '08 a Speed in '10 then Sprint GT and lastly the new Trophy until now. Hope to put many pleasurable miles on the new bike.
Welcome to the forum, love the paint job........sweet. I used to have a few bikes custom painted by dream machine when I worked at a Triumph dealership, always sold well. Congrats
Have you asked them to throw in a tail tidy? Getting rid of the big ugly scaffolding tail part makes a hell of a difference :upyeah:
Hi and welcome Triplemania  The new S3 looks really nice although It could do with some arrows on the back, not sure I'm overly keen on the new style mirrors either :frown: What was the trophy like then? I know a load of them and and the 1250 tigers have been recalled to Hinckley for a cam chain issue but haven't seen one of them on the road yet.
Had Arrow slip-ons on a Street, too loud for me and I'm deaf!!!. The demonstrator had the previous mirrors on, which were great and the dealer said they would change them if I did not like the ones fitted (depends whether they suit or not). The Trophy is a great bike, so nimble but my wife has decided she doesn't want to tour any more after our sweltering Black Forest tour in June, 41 degrees C peak plus nearly four days riding at 35 C+. It never missed a beat or used any oil, but no sense in keeping it for the odd trip out for lunch, so having seen the Speed with the paint job and test ridden the demo two up the Trophy had to go. Recall is not my problem now but its nice to see Triumph addressing any issues there might be.
I always think you should buy a bike for what you do most on it - it'll always do the other stuff you want for a couple of weeks each year. I have the SIIIs because I love the twisty stuff but it'll tour over 1,000 miles in a day if you want it to. (Honest).
So what is so fucking brilliant about that reply you felt the need to post it twice? Fucking useless cunt!..... Just observing x
