Welcome to the site, I wouldn't lacquer alloy as the salt will eventually get underneath and corrode it inside out. Triumph have stopped using lacquer on their modern bikes for a few years now for that reason. The best way I've always recommended is auto sol to bring it to life then a silicone spray to act as a barrier.

    Welcome to the forum!

I agree with the above re lacquer, the problem is if its mirror polished there isn't really any key to the surface for the lacquer to stick to which will eventually lead to it lifting and looking awful! I'm not sure you really need protection on it if it has been polished would it not be better to just keep on top of the polishing??

Anyway that's my 2p worth! Good luck and get some pics up once its done!
