    Hi All from the UK,
New to Tiger's but not Triumphs, ST Sprint 1050, 2018 Bonne T120 & recently 2017 Tiger 800 XRx with 1500 miles on it & 2 owners. Done the checks, MOT & Car Vertical for verification & is genuine as far as I can tell. Can't understand why you'd have a bike & not use it, however mine is not to reason why. Old bugger, nearly 70 as my youngest keeps telling me but anything from 16 - 25 upstairs.
So I'm looking for some advice on electrics, which freak me out. I can carry out the basic stuff replacing indicators, attaching charging cables etc but beyond that it's all a bit of a mystery. I'm wanting to attach various electrical gizmo's to the bike, namely, Sat Nav -Garbage 396, Macna heated pants - hips giving me stick in the cold weather & probably heated grips. Have checked all the amps draw & are all under 5A which is the max draw per connection on the junction box.
I have a junction box which in itself is easy enough to connect, not out of my scope. But on watching some YT vids they posters talk about switched connection. From one which is a 1200 Explorer XC the rear Hella DIN plug is switched. So my thought is if that's the case on the XRx I can connect into that at the rear which will mean the kit will only be active when the ignition is on. Jobs a gud 'un.
If there's anyone who can advise me it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

Hi Robbo, Welcome to the forum. Rather than attempting to wire all those extras into the bike's loom when I had a Tiger 800 I used one of these Fuseblocks from Nippy Normans. You connect a live and earth lead to the battery and then a trigger wire to a switched live circuit. From memory I spliced into the tail light for that.

You can then wire all your extras into the fuse block and each extra has its own fuse protection. You can also wire the extras to be 'ignition live' or permanently live.

    Here is a link:-

I'd go along with what @Samsgrandad said, I put a thunderbox on my tiger 900
to add satnavs etc and its quick and easy to do and I'm the sort of person that checks whether wires are live with my tongue

Hi Samsgrandad, Thanks for the link, never thought of looking @ Nippy Normans, used them while I had a BM R1200R which chopped in for the Tiger 800 as it was getting long in the tooth, 19 years long.o_O. I'll have a shufties @ the Fuzeblock. On quick inspection it does have 6 connections which is 2 more than the one I have & 2 more than another I've been looking @ which is a Healtech. This is the link:- https://www.healtech-electronics.com/products/tb/,if any one is interested. Strange when you just search for "thunderbox" mostly it comes up with portable toilets . I'll have a word with a mate re:- wiring into the tail light. Where did you fit the fuzebox? Have thought of mounting a junction box under the tail cowling behind the rear seat but not sure how water tight this is.

Hi Crispey, pity there's no laughing emoji or that's all I'd post as a reply. Still laughing to myself, I'll wipe away the tears that have run down my leg later.:D

@Robbo 4 Welcome to the family. Seems to me you are on the right track. But people on here are so helpful and am sure for the price of a thankyou they will be along to assist. Nice bike by the way. Perhaps you could tap the upload a file button bottom right corner and show it of and the other if you have pictures.
