Only just bought the Sprint traded in my Kawasaki Z750 and sold my old Honda Deauville. Thought the Honda was on the heavy side but the Sprint is no lightweight I've discovered. Has anyone put a Trident Stubby exhaust on theirs, I've just taken off the stock exhaust and it weighs just a tad under 1 stone. The Stubby is only 3½lbs. The Stubby connection to the sprint is considerably smaller and I noticed the stock had some sort of bandage around the end, is it bandage wrap the type of stuff that usually wraps around the outside of exhausts. Many thanks. Barney.
Hi. I would guess the bandage wrap would be fine, as long as the air seal is good. Pics of your pic please.
Thanks for the reply, sorry if this isn't how u post stuff, as I said new to all this and not a youngster so not fully up to speed with technology Any how as hopefully u can see in the pics the exhaust I removed seems to have some sort of bandage around the end as apposed to paste. So my thoughts were bandage and a bit of paste? for a good seal. Many thanks.
Hi Barney and welcome to the forum the wrap look like sealing wrap rather than exhaust wrap used for heat protection. Generally paste the wrap and slide the stubbie over and secure with a quality stainless hose clamp.
Welcome Barney, that’s just a standard exhaust gasket as others have said. Let’s see the rest of the bike
Maccam. Welcome to the family. Do drop us all a picture of the steed. It feeds the inmates here in the asylum and nursey gets a well earned rest. Ride safe & Enjoy Joe.
Nice to have a warm welcome from all. Thanks for the advice Dartplayer and from everyone else Look forward to following the threads.
Goodbye Kawi welcome to my new (to me) love of my life, obviously the wife and kids aren't looking over my shoulder. My youngest (31) and I have already had a ride out, we both loved every minute of it. I did see an article on the Triumph saying gear change with a pillion was a head banging experience but it is definitely not it was silky smooth! Barney.
