Hi all, Thought I’d say hello having just joined the group. I’m now officially a triumph owner having bought myself a centennial edition 955i Daytona. I’m currently having it resprayed as the grey and red combo wasn’t doing it justice I my view. I’m a total newbie to biking but the thrill and pure pleasure I get every time I get on the bike is just unreal! It’s now sat in bits in the garage awaiting all the parts back from paint work and I’m looking forward to getting her back on the road soon. Not long now until Christmas either so some nice new decals bought for her too. I look forward to meeting you and having a chat. Best wishes, Louis
Hi and welcome! Well you’ve got the right idea.... buy what you like then spend more money on it to make it more likier! Well done
Hi and welcome to the nut house you should fit right in Tucker Ps we like lots of photos. PPS have a wonderful Christmas. Ppps some of the inmates are crazy.
Thanks for all the hellos I’m going white body work and leaving the frame work as is for the moment. Here’s what I looked like a few weeks ago ...... It had a small crack in one of the fairings too which I really wanted to repair and the big red hump at the back didn’t go with the bike. Should have everything back in s few weeks.
Welcome buddy Keep the pics coming. We all love seeing the progress Once you have completely wrapped it up......you will love it....she will be special
Welcome in Louis ! New to bikes ey ? Careful out there, it's pretty dangerous for bikers on the roads these days. Post pics when it's done, we'd love to see !
Thanks again everyone, Yeah new to biking, I did my cbt years ago and when I got home after a brilliant day I was confronted with a very worried looking wife..... we were to be parents! That was the end of the two wheeled dream did a bit. Now 3 kids later and 10 years down the line I passed my test 4 weeks ago first time. Had a call from the paint shop yesterday, everything should be ready for the weekend
Hi Louis and welcome in to the Triumph Asylum - Nursie will be round soon with your 'Meds' and she'll want to see pics of your new toy !!!
So I got all my bits back from paint this morning and set about the rebuild starting with the fuel tank and somehow or other I managed to snap the top fuel line connector, totally gutted as I was hoping for a Christmas Day ride. I realised it was snapped as I turned the ignition on the pump kicked in and fuel was pissing everywhere. Now I have to tap the plastic out and as it’s completely stuck. Fingers crossed it works as I really don’t want to have to buy a whole new fuel pump unit. Oh well I’ll have to wait a few more days before my ride. I’ve ordered the new one and will hopefully be back on it on the 28th Lessons learnt to be more careful!!!
Hi Louis that sucks mate sorry to hear. Are you happy with the painted items though ? Hope you get it sorted.
Welcome in Louis! Hope you enjoy thousands of safe miles on your new bike. Oh! And ‚Merry Christmas‘ Cheers, Daniel
Hey Angus, Paint work looks great, can’t wait to get the rest of he panels fitte now. The 28th can’t come soon enough
Hello all once again, I finally got the bike rebuilt and more importantly running, it took me the best part of 3 hours tinkering but that sweet sound is here once again. Below is a little glimpse into the respray, I’ll post some better pics when the weathers better and I get her out in the sun All the best for now, Louis
