Hi I’ve just joined, I live in the Cotswolds and for the last two and a half years have had a 1997 Sprint Sport sat in my shed whilst I figured out what I wanted to do with it. Like a growing amount of people I’d like to build my own cafe racer. My dad did it with his bike back in the 50s (Norton ES2) which is my inspiration. I’ve no idea how long this will take as my wife and I are currently refurbishing our house. Thanks for letting me ramble a bit and I’ll try and keep you all updated on the project. Cheers for now.
Welcome Jimmus, I’ve got an old Trophy that I was thinking of converting to a roadster/cafe racer. I’ve looked at the CRK kits which are interesting. Is that the route you’ve been thinking of or a complete home build?
Good morning Jimmus and welcome aboard. Good luck with your projects and remember to always ride safe and enjoy!
Jimmus. Welcome to the Family. Yes do drop us all some pic's before and after or do a builds and projects topic as you go. Also do Ramble on as long as you want. Here all the inmates ramble. Sometime it even sounds like they know what they are talking about.. Ride Safe & Enjoy Joe.
Hi freck, sorry for the delay I've been away for a week or so. In answer to your question I've decided not to use a CRK kit, they look good but I feel like I want to try and do as much as I can myself.
OK , I know photo's are important so here are a couple of piccies at the start of my project, one of what she looked like when I collected her, and another at the start of the the strip down. I have thought long and hard about what may be changing/ruining a classic, and I'd like to apologise to anyone who thinks this is what I'm doing, but hopefully the end will justify the means. Cheers everyone.
