    Hey guys,
    Newbie here in Putney - I'm shortly going to be ordering a Scrambler 1200 XE.
    Test rode one the other day and loved every minute of it.

    Couple of questions;

    1) how much should I be looking to get off the list price? Will be ordering new from Triumph London for delivery on the '20 plate.

    2) has anyone any experience of the 'low seat' option? I'm 6'3" and can manage without but I thought it might be a smidge more comfortable...

    Thanks and looking forward to getting involved!

    Start warming a few dealers up now, as they get closer to year end you may just find one who is up for an end of year special, cast your net wide though the London boys are often uninterested in deals.

    As for low seat as your a lanky freak I'd stay with stock you loose 26mm of padding which is how they achieve the lower height (not much science in that then Triumph) If you have fat arse like me then 26mm makes little difference if your some scrawny geezer then you'll feel the difference.

    Hi and welcome, I guess it will depend on whether you are a cash buyer or are trading a bike on what you are likely to be able to negotiate. Mind with the bike being one of the new launch bikes you will need to discuss with the dealer if they are prepared to drop the price.....

    Hi David, and welcome in :cool::cool:
    I would have thought that at 6'3" there would be no need for the low option, by lowering the seat it's just going to bring your knees up even higher and get more uncomfortable much quicker, but only you know what will suit ;);)

    Good luck with getting a Triumph dealer to lower the price - they may be willing to offer free accessories though.

    Hi and welcome, you are in for a treat.
    I have had my XE almost a year now and love her more with every ride.
    Will be getting new tyres fitted next week, 6000 miles and still some tread, just fancy a change.
    Bought a pair of Avon trail riders, more road suited but still looking the part.
    Good luck getting a deal play hardball with them it’s a buyer’s market, I would play dealer against another.
